HSE 2 Day Re-qualification Course

 A trained first aider must complete a 2 day refresher course and pass the examination to revalidate their certificate for a further 3 years prior to certificate expiry.

Who should attend?

This course is for people holding a current First aid at work certificate.The course is suitable for all businesses, particularly those with large numbers of personnel which work in any environment from low to high risk, ensuring shift work/out of hours have provisions at all times. Please note if a business has more than one location each site must be assessed per category of risk and per number of personnel.

Extracts taken from the Approved Code of Practise and Guidance covering The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

ACOP 3(1) "An employer shall provide, or ensure that there are provided, such equipment and facilities as are adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for enabling first aid to be rendered to his employees if they are injured or become ill at work.

ACOP 3(4) " An employer should make an assessment of first aid needs appropriate to the circumstances of each workplace.

ACOP 3(44) "Where the first aid assessment identifies a need for people to be avaialble for rendering first aid, the employer should ensure that they are provides in sufficent numbers and at appropriate locations to enable first aid to be administered without delay should the occassion arise. Where 50 or more people are employed, at least one such person should be provided unless the assessment justifies otherwise".

 

Before you attend a course

  • Candidates must be aware that they must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
  • Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the Course content.
  • Candidates must hold and must produce to the course training manager a First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work Refresher certificate, which is valid for the duration of the training, prior to the training course being booked.
  • This can be renewed up to 3 months early with the unexpired portion being added to the new certificate.

Certification

  • Candidates must hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and must provide evidence when booking their first aid requalification course.
  • This can be renewed up to 3 months early with the unexpired portion being added to the new certificate.
  • Every delegate who passes the examination receives a First Aid at Work Certificate which is valid for 3 years. 
  • Course Duration: 2 days
  • Students will receive: Wallace Cameron Manual, Course material, Wallace Cameron certificate valid for 3 years, Badge
  • Additional Information: On external course light refreshments are provided but the delegates must provide their own lunch.
  • Delegates must hold a valid FAW certificate.
